The Four Models of Luke 6
In Luke 6 we see Jesus once again coming down from a mountain and delivering a version of Matthew’s Sermon on the Mount. Is Luke 6 the same sermon told in different sequence and perspective or a different teaching session by Jesus altogether? I tend to view this like I view a public speaker in our society today; there is a message told many times to different audiences with slight customizations or variations, but essentially the same points to be pondered.
In any case, Jesus begins teaching his disciples and the great crowd a more condensed Sermon on the Mount. What is interesting to me are the Models of Luke 6, that frankly I may never have seen without the tutelage of Dr Bruce Ewing through is course Discipleship for Leadership.

Questions to Ponder
Which of the Four Models challenges you the most? Why?
Which of the Four Models appeals to you the most?
Are we permitted to pick and choose?
What if we took Jesus at his word that these words really are the standard at which we are to live?
If you efforted to live at this standard, would you enter the Kingdom of Heaven?
